Cabinet media center denies mistakes of Braille printing of EGP 20 currency

CAIRO - 26 July 2023: The cabinet media center denied news purported by some social media pages claiming that there are mistakes of Braille printing on EGP 20 plastic currency.

In a statement on Wednesday, the center said it communicated the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) which dismissed the news as baseless.

The CBE stressed that the 20 pound plastic currency bears engraved signs for blind people to identify the currency through touch.

The center called on media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion.
