Egypt's FM, UN envoy discuss ways to solve Syrian crisis

CAIRO - 14 June 2023: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Wednesday with United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen in a phone call means of bridging the gap between various stances to reach a solution to the Syrian crisis, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.


The phone call comes within follow-up of recent meeting between Shoukry and Pedersen in Geneva and the continuous coordination between Egypt and the UN to reach a political solution for the Syrian crisis.

During the call, Pedersen hailed Egypt’s keenness on continuing coordination with the UN for the sake of the Syrian people as well as to end the Syrian crisis.
