CAIRO - 17 April 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) on Monday, said presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy on a post on Facebook account.

 

The spokesperson did not give further details on the meeting but Egypt is exerting tremendous efforts to end the ongoing military clashes in Sudan.


 

Egypt’s Armed Forces confirmed, Saturday that they are following closely the current developing situation in Sudan.

 

Military Spokesperson Gharib Abd al-Hafez said that Egypt’s forces are coordinating with their counterparts in Sudan to ensure the security and safety of the Egyptian forces who are currently present in Khartoum to conduct joint military training.

 

The statement urged the necessity of preserving the security and safety of the Egyptian forces.

 

Clashes erupted today in several locations in the center of the Sudanese capital between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary fighters.

 

The Sudanese army and the RSF are trading accusations regarding who started the clashes.
