CAIRO – 10 December 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated Iraq on centenary of the founding of the modern Iraqi state, wishing his people stability, security, and peace.

“The brothers in Iraq celebrate today an occasion that I consider as precious to the entire Arab nation. It is the centenary of the founding of the modern Iraqi state, Sisi said on Facebook.

“One hundred years have passed since the Cairo Conference in 1921, which inaugurated the creation of the Iraqi state as an extension of an ancient civilization rooted in the depths of history,” Sisi added.

“One hundred years witnessed many historical stops in the march of Iraq, the Arab nation, and the whole world,” Sisi noted.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of the Egyptian people, we congratulate brotherly Iraq on this precious occasion, and we wish peace, security and stability to its proud people,” he added.
