CAIRO – 8 July 2017: Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Al-Qattan said the “coward” terrorist attacks, including the latest attack in Rafah, will not defeat the will of Egyptians.

Twenty six soldiers were killed and injured in a suicide bombing attack on an army checkpoint in Northern Sinai Friday morning, security sources said.

He added that the Saudi leadership, government and citizens will always stand with Egypt until the terrorism phenomenon is eradicated.

In an over-the-phone interview with the On Live satellite channel, Qattan stressed that Egypt is bigger than these actions, and that it is able to eliminate terrorism very soon.

The Saudi ambassador said coordination and unity are necessary to fight and end terrorism.

This attack took place in light of Egypt and other Gulf countries launching a campaign against Qatar for allegedly backing terrorism.
