CAIRO – 6 July 2017: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Cairo Saturday, where he will meet with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi Sunday, said Palestinian ambassador to Egypt Gamal Al-Shobky.

Abbas is scheduled to meet with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Abo El-Gheit on Saturday.

This came after Fatah spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi denied, on a phone call with “Sawa” agency, allegations that Abbas’s visit to Egypt is cancelled.

During the phone call, Al-Qawasmi said that the “relations between Egypt and Palestine haven’t stopped”, and hailed Egypt's “vital” role in supporting the Palestinian cause. He also stressed that there’s no tension in Egypt and Palestine relations.

The summit is set to tackle the latest development of Palestinian cause and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
