820 tourists on hot balloon rides in Luxor

LUXOR, Upper Egypt, Dec 31 (MENA) - Thirty-five hot air balloon flights took off in Luxor on Tuesday, carrying 820 tourists of various nationalities.

An official with an air balloon company in Luxor said in a statement that the air balloon flights are currently seeing high turnout in conjunction with the celebrations marking the New Year's Eve and Christmas.

The official also hailed the efforts exerted by the bodies concerned to beef up the security level in the Egyptian hot air balloon sector.

The civil aviation authorities impose tight restrictions on the air balloon flights, he said, adding that Luxor governorate is taking all safety procedures and coordinates with the security bodies in this regard.
