Sphinx Airport receives 1st charter flight from Jordan

CAIRO - 31 December 2019: Sphinx International Airport received on Monday the first charter flight coming from Jordan, carrying 108 passengers, according to a statement issued by the Civil Aviation ministry.

This came within the framework of the Ministry of Civil Aviation's keenness on increasing air traffic to Sphinx airport.

After its inauguration at the beginning of the year, the international airport received a number of flights during the last period.

The statement reported that Sphinx International Airport would play a significant role in stimulating the activities of cultural and archaeological tourism.

The Sphinx airport is located near the Cairo-Alexandria desert road, serving near regions such as Giza, Al Haram and 6 October City, Faiyum and Beni Suef.

Being located near touristic places like the Pyramids of Giza and the under-construction Grand Egyptian Museum, the airport will grasp people’s attraction towards one-day tours.
