EgyptAir announced official transporter of CIFF

CAIRO – 20 November 2019: Egyptian flagship carrier EgyptAir was announced to be the official transporter of the 41st edition of Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which kicks off on Wednesday at Cairo Opera House.

EgyptAir stressed that it will offer the festival's participants and guests from all over the world all the necessary facilities.

Renowned Egyptian director Sherif Arafa and famed Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby will be honored in this year's edition of the festival. Also, the Legendary director, screenwriter, actor and animator, Terry Gilliam, will be granted the Lifetime Achievement Award. Gilliam is set to accept the award during the opening ceremony of the festival.

"The Irishman" will be the opening movie of the festival and Mexico will be the country in focus in this year's edition.

Cairo International Film Festival is the first Arab and second African festival to sign the Gender Parity Pledge 5050×2020, to join this commitment launched during Cannes Film Festival in 2018. The festival is committed to promote gender equality and transparency during its 42nd edition in November 2020.
