Cairo - October 19, 2019: Alexandria Governor Abdelaziz Konsoa announced on Saturday that direct flights from Cyprus to Alexandria will begin within six months, saying "Alexandria will witness a tourist boom in the coming period."

The governor said in a press statement that it is expected to reach two flights a week.

On Saturday morning, a Cypriot cruise ship carrying 500 tourists of different nationalities arrived at Alexandria port. SALAMIS FILOXENIA ship carries on board the Mayor of the Cypriot city of Paphos, Phedonas Phedonos, alongside a high-level official delegation coming from Cyprus to visit Alexandria.



Konsowa received a group of popular leaders and many residents of the Mediterranean city tourists on arrival at the port.

On the other hand, Phedonos said that Egypt's difficult tourism period is over, and the number of tourists is expected to reach 3,500 in 2020.

He added that in the coming period, Egypt, Greece and Cyprus will witness tourism programs to stimulate tourism.
