CAIRO - 26 September 2019: EgyptAir and Germany's Lufthansa expand their code-sharing deal to reach more passengers in Europe and Africa.

The two companies are members in the Star Alliance, the world's largest global airline alliance.

In a statement on Thursday, EgyptAir said it seeks to reach the largest number of clients, especially in Europe.

Under the expansion deal, EgyptAir can carry its passengers to Hamburg and Köln in Germany in addition to Nice in France and Warsaw in Poland.

A top official in Lufthansa hailed expanding the agreement, noting that Lufthansa passengers can benefit from EgyptAir flights to Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh.

EgyptAir Board Chairman Ashraf el Kholi said the company is keen on promoting its presence in Europe, especially through reaching new destinations.
