CAIRO, July 31 (MENA) - EgyptAir will receive in mid August the sixth and last Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner as part of a deal to purchase six jets of the same model.

Sources at the Egyptian flag carrier said in a statement on Wednesday that the company has already received five aircraft of the same model in pursuit of developing its air fleet that will witness by the end of 2020 the joining of 33 new jets including six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, 12 jets of the Airbus A220-300 model and 15 of Airbus A320neo family.

The newly-received Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners are set to be operated on EgyptAir's routes to Shanghai, Tokyo as well as New York and Bangkok.

The B787-9 Dreamliner is capable of flying a distance ranging between 14,800 and 15,700 km non-stop with 'dispatch reliability' hitting 99%. It was developed so as to be 20% more fuel-efficient than its counterparts in commercial aircraft.

The B787-9 Dreamliner has 309 seats divided into 30 Super Diamond fully flat business class seats and 279 seats in the economy class.
