CAIRO - 23 July 2019: The Italian National Aviation Authority (ANA) confirmed on Tuesday that they have not suspended flights to and from Cairo, according to the newspaper Borsa Italia.

"We contacted the Ministry of the Interior, European countries and other competent authorities and are ready for any intervention in the event of a change in the situation or if different directives are issued," the authority said in a statement.

It is worth mentioning that an official source at the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said on July 21 that reports on suspension of London-Cairo flights for seven days have not been issued by neither the UK Transportation Department nor the British Foreign Office.

The Egyptian ministry said in a statement that the verification of the source of such reports is underway in coordination with representative of the British operator in Cairo.

The ministry said it has increased the seat capacity of EgyptAir planes heading toLondon, noting that a Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplane will be used to operate an additional flight to Heathrow Airport in London as of Sunday.
