CAIRO - 1 July 2019: Egypt's Minister of Tourism Rania al-Mashat called on the Chinese people to visit Egypt and enjoy its cultureand nature. She also invited them to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum after its inauguration next year, which she described as Egypt's gift to the world.

Mashat noted that Egypt and China represent the oldest civilizations in the history of humanity, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries at the official and public levels. She said that the existing cooperation between them shows remarkable improvement at all levels.

This came during several media meetings held by the minister of tourism on the sidelines of her visit to China to represent Egypt at the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, held in Changsha, the capital of central China's Hunan Province, from June 27 to 29.

During interviews with a number of TV channels and major Chinese newspapers, Mashat congratulated the Chinese people on the approaching celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Shestressed the importance of the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo held to enhance cooperation between Chinaand the African continent in many fields.

The minister also pointed to the close relationship between the political leaderships of the two countries.

The Chinese side's keenness to invite Egypt as a guest of honor at the expo affirms Egypt's special place in the African continent and comes in line with Egypt's assumption of the African Union presidency,Mashat said. She added that this expo was an opportunity to review Egypt'squalifications in the various fields of development, including investment, trade, agriculture, industry and tourism.
