CAIRO – 29 May 2019: Famed actor Ramez Galal’s prank show “Ramez in the Waterfall” has promoted inbound tourism to Indonesia, particularly Bali, said Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Helmy Fawzy.

“Thanks to this program, we had a tremendous response from people who want to visit Bali and asked for the packages,” he said during a Ramadan Iftar in Cairo.

“Egypt is a brotherly country and most Indonesians consider it as their second home. Over the past two years, we have seen quite a significant increase in the number of Indonesian students who study in Egypt,” Ambassador Helmy said, adding that the last year, 2,000 new Indonesian students arrived in Egypt.

Bali is one of the top ten recommended tourist destination in 2019 all over the world due to its waterfalls, views of volcanos and sunrise, and diving, according to Trip Advisor.

In Galal's annual prank show, which always screens in Ramadan, Egyptian T.V. stars are seen in fear for their lives. This year, Galal chose Bali’s waterfalls to shoot his show where guests try to swim to the shore, while having the burden of saving a drowning cast member. Finally, a state of panic shrouds the guest when Galal appears in the form of a Gorilla.

Over the past two years, Gala has pranked famous Egyptian and international stars like Paris Hilton, Steven Seagal and Shah Rukh Khan. The reaction of Shah Rukh Khan during the punk show was the fourth most trending YouTube video during the first week of Ramadan 2017.
