CAIRO – 3 March 2019: Trips of the Holy Family path in Egypt are not necessarily for religious reasons; they can also be for historical and cultural purposes. A large number of Italian tourists began this journey that will last for eight days on Saturday.

Tourism in Egypt is not only to enjoy the sea and the pyramids; Egypt also offers cultural, archaeological and spiritual trips, according to the Italian agency C Fiaggia on Saturday.

The agency pointed out that this type of tourism attracts more tourists from around the world, especially Italy; tourists who are willing to discover the unknown side of this beautiful country and reveal the spiritual face of Egypt.

In addition to the spiritual side, this trip has beautiful landscapes and sites surrounded by unique nature.

The Holy Family came from Palestine to Egypt via the Arish road, arrived in Old Cairo and then moved to Upper Egypt. They hid there for a while and then returned to the north, passing through the Natroun Valley, and going back through Sinai to Palestine.

Pope Francis visited Egypt in April 2017, carried out a mass and acknowledged the Holy Family’s journey in Egypt as an official Christian pilgrimage. This announcement put the Holy Family tour on equal footing with Fatima in Portugal, suggesting that thousands of Christian tourists would visit Egypt.
