CAIRO – 9 February 2019: Egypt kicked off on Friday Feb. 8 the first traveling exhibition in El-Maasera village in southern Cairo, shedding light on different environmental models including solar, biogas and soilless applications.

Set for two days, the exhibition is organized by the Social Services Cooperative Society in cooperation with the NGO Unit in the Ministry of Environment and several civil society organizations.

“The exhibition aims at introducing the objectives of the International agenda for Sustainable Development 2030, in particular the vision of Egypt 2030 and how to achieve it as well as how to address the problems of climate change” said head of the Sustainable Development Unit, Samah Saleh.

Saleh confirmed that the exhibition also preparing of new generations able of facing environmental problems and finding practical solutions in addition to train Egyptian youth to manage environmental projects and using of natural resources. It aims to disseminate innovative methods of dealing with waste.

Products displayed at the exhibition show the use of hydroponics and soilless farming using koaponic, as well as models for applications of surface cultivation, the reuse of solid waste, models for organic fertilizer, recycling products and other applied environmental models that facilitate the access of information.

The exhibition also includes the establishment of an initiative to educate the child environmentally and stimulate the protection of the environment, and the establishment of seminars for the identification of various environmental activities.
