CAIRO, Jan 21 (MENA) - Secretary of the Parliament Foreign Relations Committee Tarek el Kholy called for boosting cooperation between Cairo and Seoul to restore the Korean tourism movement to Egypt.

In a press statement released on Monday, Kholy called on parliamentarians of both countries to exert more efforts to remove any impediments standing in the way of restoring Korean tourism to Egypt, calling for resuming direct flights between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Karim Darwish asserted, during a meeting held late Sunday with the South Korean Parliamentary Society, the depth of Egyptian-Korean relations that date back to the 1940s. He noted that relations and visits between the two countries have been on the rise over the past period.

The meeting was attended by the Korean ambassador in Cairo.

Darwish also reiterated that Egypt welcomes Korean investments and praised the existing coordination between Egypt and Korea in all international fora.

Meanwhile, the Korean parliamentary delegation stressed that Egypt is a great country which has a mighty weight in the region, praising the economic reforms that have been recently introduced by the Egyptian government.
