CAIRO – 13 January 2019: In order to stimulate tourism and drive the economy and development forward, the Ministry of Tourism worked on projects worth LE 38.7 million to increase the number of tourists to 50 percent in 2018.

In February 2018, the Ministry of Tourism trained workers in the field of occupational safety and health in various
governorates, in cooperation with the World Tourism Organization (WTO), to modernize the standards and conduct a digital examination of hotels.

An Egyptian international consortium has been recruited to internationally promote Egypt as a touristic destination, represented by the IPG / MCN Group and Egypt's Synergy Company; the promotional campaign for Egyptian tourism was launched during the participation in London International Tourism Exchange

Due to the importance of social networking sites and their impact on the global tourism movement, the ministry has used a number of social media platforms and influential media outlets to broadcast positive messages about Egypt.

It is worth mentioning that the board of directors of the tourist chamber started to announce plans to train reception employees who deal directly with tourists, whether in hotels or tourism companies, to maintain the quality of services provided to tourists.

A set of objectives were set for 2019, including the restructuring of the management and strategies of tourism companies, the introduction of modern technology in management targeting all employees of companies, and linking the employment of any individual in the field of tourism to specific training programs.
