CAIRO - 17 December 2018: Ambassador of France to Egypt Stephane Romatet said that the decline in inflation, the growth of reserves, and the good economic environment Egypt has achieved make the country a good destination for investments.

On the sidelines of a press conference held last week, the ambassador praised the economic reforms undertaken by Egypt as well as the mega projects being executed, particularly in the sectors of infrastructure and energy.

Since French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Cairo in January, the ambassador said that the event can be an opportunity to increase French investments in Egypt whose current size is €4 billion. The most known of those in the tourism sector are hotels run by Sofitel and Club Accor Hotels.

Romatet revealed that the embassy holds visits to France to promote investment in Egypt among French companies, and that a mission to France will take place mid-March to promote tourism in Egypt. On the other hand, missions to Egypt jumped to 10 per year from four.

The ambassador unveiled that charter flights between Lyon-Hurghada will be launched in 2019.
