CAIRO –26 May 2017: Taormina, a small Italian splendid city located on the east cost of Sicily Island was chosen to host the G7 Summit on May 26-27; there are plenty of reasons behind this right choice.

Since the 19th century, Taormina has become a major tourist attraction spot in Italy. It is considered by all its visitors to be a Sicilian fairy tale resort town.

The volcanic Aetna Mountain and the Ionian Sea stand as a wonderful backdrop for the city of Taormina, adding to the romantic character of this city that is well known for its intertwined medieval streets and the Greek theatre, date back to the second century.

The theatre was a source of inspiration for the writings of DH Lawrence and Truman Capote. Tourists usually enjoy much dazzling performances at the Greek Theatre.

Taormina is famous with its energetic summer painting exhibitions, events and concerts. The famous “Corso Umberto’’ is the perfect place for shopping; it is the perfect place as well for drinking coffee while listening to charming music in the cafes.

Taormina beaches is the suitable place for exercising the different amusing water sports like swimming, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, or get tanned after a lovely sunbath.

Tourists usually hike to the top of the hill behind the St. Joseph's Church to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire city.

The ancient Italian city is famous with its delicious food especially the worldwide famous Sicilian pizza. The restaurants there are suitable for all social classes.
