CAIRO - 8 June 2018: The Antiquities Ministry, in cooperation with the Investment and International Cooperation Ministry and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, will announce in a press conference on Sunday the launching of the preliminary management and operation of the services of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

A number of ambassadors and representatives of foreign countries in Cairo will attend the conference, which will be held under the auspices of the Tourism Ministry.

The new logo of the GEM will also be revealed during the conference.

In press statements on Friday, General Supervisor of the GEM Tarek Tawfiq said that the Egyptian and foreign companies, which will be responsible for the preliminary management and operation of the GEM's services should be experienced and efficient in this field, as the services, which these companies will provide, include the operation of a group of shops and restaurants.

Tawfiq underlined that the Antiquities Ministry will be responsible for the management of archaeological artifacts, laboratories, restoration centers, archaeological stores and exhibition halls.
