CAIRO - 01 October 2017: The Hollywood star, founder and CEO of WPDI and UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace, Forest Whitaker crowned his visit to Egypt and paid a visit to the Egyptian Museum.

Having received the Lifetime Achievement Award in El-Gouna Film Festival’s closing ceremony, Whitaker visited the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, as a last stop before bidding farewell to Egypt. Looking excited, the American star posted pictures on his Facebook page of him at the Egyptian Museum with one of the golden monuments at the background and others inside the mummies’ room.

“I could not leave Egypt without watching the captivating artifacts in the Egyptian Museum,” said Whitaker commenting on his pictures.

Egyptian billionaire and founder of El-Gouna Film Festival Naguib Sawiris availed the golden opportunity of this visit and partnered with Whitaker to advocate and promote peace in South Sudan on September 28. The partnership between Sawiris and Whitaker will work to empower Sudanese people to be supporters of peace and reconciliation in their communities.

Whitaker is one of the very few actors that won the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Critics' Choice Award, Golden Globe Award and SAG Award for the same performance. The Academy Award winner worked as a producer, executive producer and directed many award winning films and shows since the start of his career.
