CAIRO – 2 August 2017: “I prefer to go on a trip to Sharm El Sheikh for 5 days and 4 nights, including food and drinks, rather than spending the same period in one of the Jordanian resorts, because it will cost me double the money.”

With that sentence from an Al Rai newspaper report, the reason behind the Jordanian people’s lack of interest in internal tourism was stated.

This sentence is a strong indication that the Minister of Tourism Yehia Rashed’s visit to Jordan the last couple of days was successful. The visit to Jordan was a part of a ministerial delegation under the leadership of Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.

Within the first day of the visit, the ministerial delegation signed seven cooperation agreements between Egypt and Jordan in many fields, such as investment, industry, commerce and tourism.

As a step forward in cooperation between the two countries in these fields, there are many reasons for the Jordanian people to visit Egypt, some of which include:

1- Jordanians seek economically convenient places, as Al Rai newspaper has stated that Sharm El Sheikh is one of the best destinations for the Jordanian people because of the low cost, as the Jordanian dinar equals 25 Egyptian pounds.

2- The short distance between Egypt and Jordan makes it easier for Jordanians to come to Egypt rather than go to Europe.

3- Speaking the same language makes Jordanians prefer Egypt over Turkey or other countries that speak different languages.

4- Jordanians need complete travel programs that include beach tourism, alongside religious and historical tourism, which is only available in Egypt for these low costs.
