CAIRO – 25 January 2021: Teams participating in the 2021 Handball World Championship were keen to praise the efforts the Egyptian state has made so far to organize the event amid the pandemic.

Hosting the championship, Egypt has carried out strict measures to make sure all players participating in the championship are not coronavirus patients. The pandemic has halted many sporting events worldwide.

Forms of praise have different from one team to another, but they have all agreed that the country has made great efforts in organizing the championship since their early moments in the country at the airport.

They have praised the Egyptian people’s behavior, smile, respect and love towards teams of different countries and have also hailed efforts made by Egyptian Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy who has been following up on everything related to the championship.

Egypt men’s handball national team was held to a 25-25 draw by Slovenia, but the point was enough for the Pharaohs to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.

The Egyptians have a chance to reach the second round as group leaders if the Russian Handball Federation managed to defeat Sweden tonight.

Egypt aims to finish first in the group to avoid facing the defending champions, Denmark, who are likely to finish atop of its group.

Egypt hosts the competition between 13 and 31 January 2021, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.
