CAIRO-23 January 2021: Slovenia coach Ljubomir Vranjes expressed his happiness and pride with his team’s performance against Sweden on Friday night.

Slovenia secured a last-minute draw with Sweden to keep their hopes alive in the competition.

"Either side could have won; I think a draw was fair especially with the high level both sides showed. The players were up to the task for the 60 minutes so I am proud of them. I hope we can keep improving.” Vranjes said after the match.

Slovenia have five points and they are one point behind the group leaders, Egypt and Sweden.

Slovenia will take on Egypt in the last match of the main round and they need to get the two points to reach the quarter-finals.

Vranjes commented on his team’s decisive match against the hosts, saying “We can play under pressure. Egypt have better chances than us but we will fight to win.”

Egypt hosts the competition between 13 and 31 January 2021, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the competition's history.
