El Sheikh is close to join Zamalek

CAIRO-5 December 2020: Al Ahly former winger Ahmed El Sheikh is close to join arch-rivals Zamalek SC according to reports.

 

Al Ahly did not add the winger to the team's preliminary squad for the new season and the player started to search for a new destination after being a free agent.

 

According to Filgoal, Zamalek SC and El Sheikh will have a meeting on Saturday night to finalize the deal. 

 

El Sheikh was part of Al Ahly's squad that defeated Zamalek SC in the CAF Champions League final and he was unused substitute in the match. 

 

In the last season, he represented the team in 28 matches across all competitions, having scored five goals for the Reds and set up three goals for his teammates. 

 

El Sheikh is set to be Zamalek's third signing this transfer market after Amir Adel and Hamza El Mathlouthi. 

 

In 2015, El Sheikh joined the Red Devils from Misr Lel Makkasa SC, but he failed to earn a starting position in the team beside going on two loan spells with Misr Lel Makkasa SC and Al Ittifaq of Saudi Arabia.
