We are lucky to have Salah all this time in Liverpool: Klopp

CAIRO, 14 July 2020: Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp talked about the possibility of Mohamed Salah appearing in his 150th game for Liverpool on Wednesday against Arsenal.

"Salah plays an average of 50 games per season, which is unbelievable," Klopp said at a press conference on Tuesday.

"50 games a season! Really a lot of matches, we were lucky because Salah played all that many games and he wasn’t injured."

In the event that Salah participates against the Gunners in the 36th round of the English Premier League, he will record his 150th appearance in the Liverpool jersey during 3 seasons.

The German coach stressed, "How happy I was when I made sure of the completion of the deal of signing the Egyptian winger,”

Salah contributed greatly to the crowning of the Reds in the European Champions League, European Super League, Club World Cup and finally the English Premier League title after an absence of 30 years.

"I remember our conversation when we first met face to face and talked about his favorite position on the right front," Klopp added.

"Salah told me that Sadio Mane is playing on the right front, but I told him that Sadio can play on the left, too."

"Salah, Mane and Roberto Firmino scored 250 goals, which indicates that this works. You cannot change the world by yourself, but by teamwork you can."

Liverpool crowned the Premier League for the 19th time in their history, leaving it one title away from Manchester United, the record holder.

In 30 years Liverpool have played 1149 games since the 1990-91 season in order to catch the 19th title.
