CAIRO_26 June 2020: After three decades of agony on the domestic level, Liverpool finally crowned Premier League title on Thursday night.

Chelsea's 2_1 victory over the second-placed Manchester City at Stamford Bridge granted the Reds their first Premier League title.

Liverpool are leading the Premier League table with 23 points clear with seven games remaining at the competition to win the title before their journey to Manchester to face Pep Guardiola's team.

"I am completely overwhelmed; I don’t know, it’s a mix of everything – I am relieved, I am happy, I am proud, I couldn’t be more proud of the boys," Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp told the club official website.

Liverpool players gathered on Thursday night to watch the game together and the celebrations erupted following the referee's whistle that declared Liverpool champions.

Klopp added "When we counted down the last five seconds of the game, the ref counted down a little bit longer than us so we had to look at two or three more passes!. Then it was pure. I cannot describe it. It was a really, really nice moment."

Liverpool are now one title behind Manchester United who has a record 20 Premier League titles.
