CAIRO – 24 June 2017: Zamalek will not prevent their forward Bassem Morsy from leaving the club and playing abroad if they receive a good offer for him in this summer’s transfers, the team said Saturday.

Bassem Morsy became the starting striker for Zamalek when he joined the club in 2014. He led Zamalek to win the Egyptian League in 2015 and two Egyptian cups in 2015 and 2016.

Zamalek previously refused the release of their star, but after signing two African strikers, Benjamin Acheampong and Kabongo Kasongo, the team reopened negotiations. Al Ahly opened the door for him to leave along with the team’s current striker, Hossam Paolo.

Zamalek has refused any offers for goalkeeper Mahmoud Abd El Rahim “Gennesh,” however. Zamalek wants to keep Gennesh despite losing his starting position to the Egyptian National team goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy.

Rumors linked Gennesh to many Egyptian teams after his amazing performance with Zamalek in previous games.
