CAIRO_16 May 2020: German legendary midfielder, Lothar Matthaus, gives his opinion on the rumours linking Borussia Dortmund youngster, Erling Haaland, with a move to Spain to play for Real Madrid.

"He should play two years in Dortmund and then move to Real Madrid. He is 19 years old and shouldn't go to Madridnow, where he might not play the big matches because he would have Benzema as competition." Matthaus said.

Real Madrid showed interest in signing the player, who took the Bundesliga by storm since he signed for Dortmund last winter.

The former midfielder added "He is a player that would fit in very well at Real Madrid, but he needs to play.

After gaining a huge reputation as the next big thing in Austria where he played for Red Bull Salzburg, the Norwegian moved to Borussia Dortmund in the winter market.

He wore the famous yellow and black jersey in eight games at the Bundesliga and scored nine goals, including a hat-trick within 23 minutes in his debut.
