CAIRO_2 May 2020: Mourinho, former Real Madrid manager and the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur, revealed that Madrid's loss to Bayern Munich in 2012 UEFA Champions League semis was the only time he cried because of football.

"That season, Real Madrid were the best team in Spain and also the best in Europe. That's why it was so hard for us to deal with going out to Bayern in the Champions League." Mourinho told Marca.

In 2012 UEFA Champions League semi-final, Real Madrid lost the first leg in Munich 2_1 but they bounced back in Madrid and won the game 2_1 to send the game to extra time.

Both teams failed to decide the game during the extra time to send the game to penalties which ended with a 3_1 win for the Bavarian side.

Mourinho continued "I remember it well. [Aitor] Karanka and I, outside my house, in my car, crying. It was very hard because in that season we were the best team in Europe.”
