CAF reveals number of votes for Mane, Salah & Mahrez

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the number of votes obtained by the first 3 players in the African Player of the Year award, which was crowned on Tuesday by Senegalese star Sadio Mane and Liverpool.

CAF announced on his official website that Mane, 27, got 477 votes (44%).

While his colleague in Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, the star of Egypt, came second with 325 votes (30%).

And in the third place is Riyadh Mahrez, the star of Manchester City and Algeria, with 267 votes (26%).

CAF experts committee, as well as coaches and leaders for all of Africa's teams, chose the best in Africa.

Sadio Mane won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2019, and led Senegal to the final of the African Cup of Nations held in Egypt before the 1-0 loss to Algeria.

Sadio Mane, the Senegalese star during 2019, participated in 52 games, scored 31 goals and made 13 others, and crowned with Liverpool UEFA Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

At the international level, accompanied by his Senegalese team, he played 11 games, scored 4 goals and made 3, and he managed to lead the Lions of Teranga to qualify for the African Nations Cup final, but did not win the title after losing his country against Algeria with 0-1.
