CAIRO – 21 December 2019: Everton and Arsenal opened match week 18 of the Premier League with a goalless draw at Everton’s castle, Goodison Park.

The two teams produced poor football during the game without many chances created on both goalkeepers, who had a quiet game in front of packed stands.

This game is the last one for the two teams caretaker managers, Freddie Ljungberg of Arsenal and Duncan Ferguson of Everton, as both teams hired new managers to take charge of both teams.

Mikel Arteta, the new Arsenal manager, and the new Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti, followed the goalless draw from the stands to know their new teams better before leading the two teams from the next game.

Arteta will start his mission to get Arsenal back on track on Thursday away against Bournemouth while Everton’s game against Burnley will be Ancelotti’s first game as Everton manager.

The two teams are suffering this season at the league as Arsenal gained only 23 points after 18 games while Everton gained only 19 points.
