File- Zamalek clash against Génération Foot

CAIRO – 24 October 2019: Zamalek hosts Senegal’s Génération Foot on Thursday night at the CAF Champions League round of 32 second leg at El Salam Stadium.

The game was initially scheduled in Cairo on 28 September but Zamalek decided to move the game to Alexandria for security concerns but the Senegalese team refused to play the game.

Following a meeting by the CAF Organizing Committee for Interclub Competitions and Club Licensing System in Cairo on 8 October, the match was rescheduled for Thursday, 24 October.

Zamalek suffered a 2-1 loss at the first leg in Senegal through Mame Gueye’s two goals while Mostafa Mohamed scored Zamalek’s only goal at the game.

“Zamalek refused to face their arch rivals, Al Ahly, just to prepare for our game. Our main goal now is to reach the group stages. We will have to give everything to qualify for the group stages,” Génération Foot’s communications director Tala Fal said.

Zamalek expected line-up for the game consists of: Mohamed Awwad, Mahmoud Alaa, Mahmoud Hamdy, Abdullah Gomaa, Hamdi Naguez, Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, Ahmed Zizou, Youssef Obama, Acraf Bencherki and Mostafa Mohamed.

The game starts on 8:00 pm.
