CAIRO –12 June 2017: The Americans Ryan Harrison and Michael Venus won the Roland Garros French Open, one of four Grand Slams after beating the Mexican Santiago Gonzalez and the American Donald Young by 2-1 (7-6, 6-7, 6-3) on Saturday.
After equal competition in the first two sets, Harrison and Venus broke Gonzalez and Young’s serve, to lead by 6-3 in the decisive set, and kept the serve in the next half to win at the Philippe Chatrier court.
This is the first time the duo have reached a grand slam final, and Harrison has never reached the semi-finals of any Grand Slam, while Venus has never reached the quarter-finals. This is not their first title however; they won the Estoril championship last month.
