CAIRO – 23 August 2019: Egypt defeats Argentina 3-1 on Thursday at the second game of the group stage of 2019 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship in Tunisia.

The Egyptian team dominated the game from the beginning and won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-16.

Egypt lost the first set 25-21 but the Egyptian youngsters bounced back to win the third set 25-22 and achieve their second win at the tournament.

Egypt opened their participation at the competition with a victory over the European champions, Germany.

The draw put Egypt in Group C alongside Germany, Argentina, Japan and Mexico.

Egypt will face Japan on Friday and they will end the group stage games when they face Mexico on Saturday.

Egypt appeared at the competition for 10 times before and the team’s best achievement in the tournament came in 2001 at home when they finished 4th.

The Egyptian volleyball boys hope to follow the steps of the handball u-19 national team won achieved the World Cup title, having defeated Germany at the final.

Tunisia hosts the competition between 21–30 August.
