CAIRO – 15 August 2019: Liverpool achieved their first title this season on Wednesday night when they defeated Chelsea on penalties at Vodafone Park, Istanbul to win UEFA Super Cup title.

Liverpool manager, JurgenKlopp, counted on the team’s new goalkeeper, Adrian, after the team starting goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, suffered an injury during the team’s opening game at the Premier league.

On the blue side, Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, wanted to reconcile the fans following a 4-0 loss to Manchester United at the opening game of the league. Lampard picked Olivier Giroud, Pedro and Pulisic to be the team’s attacking line.

Giroud rewarded his manager as he opened the score after 36 minutes to give his team the lead at the first half.

Liverpool bounced back at the second half through Sadio Mane who equalized the score after a wonderful pass from Roberto Firmino.

Both teams failed to score at the remaining minutes of the game despite their multiple attempts to score and the game went to extra time.

Liverpool players searched for the second goal at the first extra time and they got what they wanted from Mane’s strike.

Chelsea won a penalty as Liverpool goalkeeper tackled Tammy Abraham and Jorginhoconverted it to send the game to penalties.

Liverpool players, including Salah were so accurate and they did not miss the target, but Chelsea’s Abraham missed his team’s last penalty to crown Liverpool champions.

Liverpool won their fourth UEFA Super Cup title.
