FIFA arrives in Cairo to discuss EFA issues

CAIRO, 6 August 2019:A delegation from the International Federation of Football (FIFA) arrived in Cairo this afternoon to meet Egyptian sports officials to discuss the management of the football Association following the resignation of the previous association.

The entire EFA, including Megahed, resigned after Egypt’s loss following public backlash; however, he said he will run for a seat in the board whether the election would be held in three months or in 2020, the year in which the original term of the board ends.

Megahed, head of obscure Mega Sporting Club in Dakahlia governorate, said he is coordinating with the General Assembly of the EFA to be included in their list of nominees. He was a member of the EFA in 2012-1026 and again in 2016-2020.
