CAIRO _ 3 August 2019: Egypt Women’s national U 16 team defeated Angola 71-50 at 2019 FIBA U16 Women's African Championship semi-finals to secure a spot at the final and reach 2020 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup.

Egyptian girls overpowered Angola and produced a wonderful performance in a one sided clash against the experienced Angolan players.

Egypt will face the best team in the continent, Mali, who destroyed Mozambique 102-25 at the other semi-final.

Egyptian girls have had a successful campaign at the tournament, having won three out of four games and their only loss came against Mali at the group stage.

Egyptian girls aim to be the first to defeat Mali in a final at this category as Mali is the only team to win the competition since its inauguration in 2009.

Egypt faced Mali three times at the final but they failed to stop the dominating Malian players at the three finals.

The game is scheduled at 6:30 on Saturday at Amahoro National Indoor Stadium in Kigali.
