CAIRO - 12 July 2019: The International Federation of Handball announced the participation of 10 clubs in the 13th edition of the World Club Championship to be held in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia will host the tournament from August 26 to September 1 with the participation of 10 teams for the first time instead of 8.

Zamalek are Africa’s representative, being the African Super Cup champion, after winning over Al Ahly 38-35 at extra time.

There are three clubs from Europe: Barcelona, defending champions, European Champions, RK Vardar from Macdeonica, and the German champions THW Kiel by the invitation card.

Another three Arab teams participate in the tournament; Qatar's Al-Duhail, who holds the AFC Champions League and Saudi Arabia's Al Wehda, the host, and by invitation card, Saudi Arabia’s Moder.

Zamalek faces the winner from Germany’s Kiel and Australia’s Sydney.

Zamalek’s best achievement in the tournament was the third place in 2010.
