CAIRO - 6 July 2019: Moez Haggy, General Secretary of the African Football Confederation (CAF), expressed his pleasure at organizing the 2019 African Nations Championship in Egypt after the great success achieved in the groups stage.

"The current version is exceptional as it has 24 teams; and the organization has been impressive so far. The Egyptian government has spared no effort to ensure the success of the tournament. After the World Cup in Russia, CAF had to present an exceptional tournament, and that happened in Egypt." Haggy said.

"Egypt succeeded to organize the tournament in a very short time, I thank the Egyptian fans who attend games other than the Egyptian team games, and I think the numbers will increase in the next round." He concluded.

The 16th round of the African Cup of Nations starts on Friday, and there are some who consider that this is the real start of the African tournament.
