CAIRO, 23 June 2019: Ehab Lehita, Egyptian national team director of football, assured that the game against Democratic Republic of Congo, isn’t easy especially after Uganda’s victory.
Uganda beat Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0 in their opening game thanks to Patrick Kaddu and Emmanuel Okwi at Cairo stadium to be on the top of Group A.
“Uganda’s victory is not in our favor, but we are keen to win against DRC & decide the qualification in the first place,” Lehita said to Time sport.
"The system, focus and enthusiasm are our weapon to crown the missing title nine years ago and we have 3 important training sessions before the Congo match," said the national team director.
Egypt defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 in the opening game, Nigeria started their journey with a 1-0 victory over Burundi. And the most amusing match was between Madagascar & Guinea which was ended with a 2-2 draw.
Group winners and runners-up qualify for the knockout second round along with the best four of the six third-place finishers.
