CAIRO – 16 June 2019: Ghana national team striker, Gyan Asamoah, revealed on Sunday that his team is ready to come to Egypt and fight for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations title.

Asamoah, Ghana’s all time top goal scorer, spent the last 10 days with his team in Dubai to prepare for the competition.

“We’ve been working so hard in the past 10 days – the weather is also not helping – but we are still fighting. We are pushing harder and harder.” Asamoah told press.

Ghana, who failed to achieve the title since 1982, hope to end 37 years wait when they play in Egypt.

Asamoah added “The tournament itself is a different ball-game altogether, but we are happy there is no injury in the camp. We will be going to Egypt with all the players ready for the tournament.”

Ghana plays in Group F alongside Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.

Gyan, 34, is the most capped player in Ghana’s history and he is the Black Stars all-time goal scorer with 51 goals.
