CAIRO – 8 June 2017: Zamalek Sporting Club decided on Wednesday to keep Zamalek’s forward Bassem Morsy at the Club and reject any offers for the player.
Morsy renewed his contract with Zamalek earlier this season and was said to leave this summer if Zamalek received a good offer from a foreign club. However, Zamalek’s new coach Augusto Inacio told the club that he wants Morsy to stay.
Inacio believes that finding a replacement for Bassem Morsy will be very difficult. Inacio wants the Zamalek striker to stay at the club for the next season, especially because the upcoming fixtures in the CAF Champions League are crucial in deciding whether or not Zamalek will proceed to the quarter finals.
Zamalek is first in group B with five points. USM Alger is second with four points, followed by Al Ahli Tripoli with four points. Last comes Caps United with three points.
