CAIRO - 26 April 2019: LaLiga in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Egypt has announced a visit to Aswan, a city in Southern Egypt, furthering its commitment to developing the sport of football across the country and sharing knowledge and creating more awareness among football lovers.

LaLiga will hold a seminar on Wednesday 24th of April led by Juan Fuentes, the Delegate of LaLiga in Egypt and Montserrat Momán, the Cultural Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy. The purpose of this seminar is to give all participants an overview of the Spanish football league and an insight of each of the 20 football clubs and cities where LaLiga takes place.

This seminar has previously been held in Ain Shams, Kafher Sheikh, Al Azhar, Helwan and 6th of October University, and will make its next stop in Upper Egypt, reaching already more than 1000 Egyptian students.

“We are so pleased that most of the youngsters in Egypt, both men and women, and from all ages have a wider understanding of who LaLiga is, what we do, and what we represent”, Juan Fuentes highlighted.

Fuentes stressed the importance of LaLiga in the MENA region, offering a reminder that the league represents the best competition in the world, before adding that, "Egypt is a very important destination in LaLiga's development and it's an honour to further expand our presence here.”

LaLiga plans to further expand its implementation of a long-term strategic plan which will further continue to build deeper and stronger connections with Egypt. The program with the Spanish Embassy aims at boosting the wealth of football and Spanish Culture, as well as strengthening the ties between LaLiga and the Egyptian youth.

Last march in Cairo LaLiga was also appointed Goodwill Ambassador of UN Migration, announcing projects with United Nations and the ministry of youth and sports and that will be run in Egypt in order to eradicate racial discrimination.
