CAIRO – 4 March 2019: Liverpool lost another two points after a goalless draw against Everton and took a step back at their Premier League title race with the defending champions, Manchester City.

Liverpool created many chances to score and their Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, failed to convert two clear chances to goals. One of those chances was cleared by Everton defender, Michael Keane.

“I kept the line at first to try to play him offside then ran back in and took a chance and luckily got the ball.” Keane told Everton official website after the game.

Despite the draw, Liverpool kept their unbeaten run as they reached 19 derbies unbeaten in all competitions and it is the longest in the fixture's long history.

Keane added “Both teams defended well. Liverpool are a difficult team to play against, they press well and make it hard for you to play but I thought we did really well and defended as a team.”

Liverpool’s draw granted Manchester City the top of the table with 9 games remaining.

Manchester City are leading the table with 71 points, 1 point ahead of Liverpool who hope to achieve their first Premier League title since 1990.
