Cairo, 21 February 2019: The Egyptian league’s competition is getting tougher after Zamalek and Pyramids’ stumbles which AlAhly took advantage of.




Pyramids started the 23rd round of the Egyptian league by a loss against El Gouna 1-2 thanks to Al Ahly’s loaned players, Ahmed Hamdy’s assist to Islam Abdelnaeim and Ahmed Yasser Rayan, to El Gouna. Pyramids’ record of points stopped at 45 from 23 games this season.

Zamalek, the leader of the Egyptian league, failed to keep their lead in the match to lose two important points against Al Gaish whose player, Ahmed Samir, scored a brace against his former White club. Zamalek raised their points to 52 on the top of the table from 21 games this season.

Al Ahly took advantage of their competitors’ stumbles and thrashed Al Dakhleya 3-1 on Wednesday through Mohamed Hany, Junior Ajayee and the new comer, Giraldo. Al Ahly returned to the competition after maintaining the gap with Zamalek at seven points, with one game less, and equaling Pyramids points by 45 points from only 20 games.
