CAIRO – 19 February 2019: Peru national team manager, Ricardo Gareca, arrived on Monday in Egypt to follow Pyramids Peruvian winger, Cristian Benavente.

The manager visited the team camp and met Pyramids Argentinean manager, Ramón Díaz.

Gareca attended Pyramids' clash against El-Gouna at El-Gouna Stadium which ended with a 2-1 victory for El-Gouna.

El-Gouna opened the score after six minutes from the second half by Eslam Abdel Naim and nine minutes later Ahmed Yasser Ryan doubled the score for the hosts.

Abdallah el-Said scored the visitors’ only goal at the game after he dribbled two of El-Gouna's defenders and his shot found the target.

Pyramids created many chances to equalize the score but they could not break the hosts’ defense and the game ended with a victory for El-Gouna.

Benavente was among the starting line-up; he played the whole game but he failed to help his team avoid the loss.

Peru is preparing to participate at the 2019 Copa America in Brazil.
