CAIRO, 14 February 2019: Cameroon’s legend, Patrick Mboma, praised Liverpool’s Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, after his brilliant journey in Europe.

“Salah is great player; he proved his superiority from the start of his professional career thanks to his commitment. Commitment is the cornerstone of success,” Mboma spoke to MBC Masr channel.

Henri Patrick Mboma Dem (born 15 November 1970) is a former Cameroonian football striker and the former all-time top goal-scorer for the Cameroonian national team.

“By the time he reached the age of 25, Salah has won the African Player of the Year award twice. It's a great achievement and I think he can do more like Samuel Eto'o, Abedi Pele and Yaya Toure,” Mboma added.

“I met Salah in the last CAF ceremony, he told me that he dreams of being CAF Best Player for seven times; great ambition,” Mboma revealed.

Egypt won the rights to host the tournament after being selected over South Africa.

The 2019 African Cup of Nations was initially scheduled to be hosted by Cameroon. However, Cameroon was stripped of hosting the tournament for serious delays in preparations.

“The Egyptian national team can win the title especially that they will take advantage of hosting the tournament and fans presence; watching the tournament with the participation of 24 teams will be fantastic,” Mboma concluded.
